On December 20th, 2017, the Vice Prime Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Leonard she Okitundu, on behalf of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), signed a host agreement with Ms. Hope Murera, Managing Director of ZEP-RE (PTA Reinsurance Company).
ZEP-RE is a company incepted by member states of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), with the aim of fostering the development of the insurance and reinsurance industry within the COMESA sub-region, promoting the growth of national, sub-regional and regional underwriting and retention capacities, and supporting sub-regional economic development.
During the signing ceremony which took place at the Kempisky Fleuve Congo Hotel in Kinshasa, She Okitundu confirmed that the ZEP-Re’s mandates are in accordance with the vision of H.E. Mr. Joseph Kabila Kabange, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, to strengthen the country’s economic growth with the aim of improving and enhancing the well-being of the population.
ZEP-RE will launch a regional office in 2018 to cater to the Congolese market, based in Kinshasa.
