MAURITIUS JOINS MEMBERSHIP OF ZEP-RE
The Republic of Mauritius has joined membership of ZEP-RE (PTA Reinsurance Company). ZEP-RE is an institution of COMESA charged with the task of promoting trade in the region through insurance and reinsurance business. The Company was established by COMESA Member States in 1990 and has been in operation since 1993.
The Accession ceremony by Mauritius was carried out in the offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation at Government House, Port Louis on Thursday 8th February 2007. Mauritius was represented at the ceremony by the Hon Madan M. Dulloo, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation and government officials, while ZEP-RE was represented by its Managing Director, Mr. Shadreck Lubasi, the General Manager, Mr. Rajni Varia and the Company Secretary Mrs. Hope Murera.
This accession makes Mauritius the seventeenth COMESA country to sign the ZEP-RE Agreement. ZEP-RE takes this opportunity to welcome the Government, people and insurance industry of the Republic of Mauritius to the ZEP-RE family.
